Ange Didier Houon A.K.A DJ Arafat dies in road crash
Ange Didier Houon, an Ivorian singer and disc jockey from “Shangai”. Didier also known as DJ Arafat, or Arafat Muana died after a road accident.
Tweet from RTI, Abidjan has it that the AfroTrap master died today. He died at about 8:00am because of a traffic accident that occurred on Sunday night 11th August 2019.
He was driving a motorbike and smashed into a car, pictures and messages over the social media has it. Arafat died at an Abidjan hospital, Cocody suburb where they took because of the injuries he sustained
Ange made music of the Coupé-Décalé genre. Born 26 January 1986 in DJ Arafat is left behinde four children Mael Houon, Ezekiel Houon, Lachoina Houon, Owen Houon.
Ange Didier won “Best Artist of the Year” at the Ivorian “Coupe-decale” Awards in 2016 and 2017.
He had 35 albums 11 “Coupe-decale”. A dance form combining rapid percussion, choppy rhythms with hip hop style vocals.
DJ Arafat started as a DJ in Yopougon, one of Abidjan’s night-life districts, report says. Ange’s father a prominent sound engineer and his mother was a well-known singer.
The Ivorian Culture Minister Maurice Kouakou Bandaman expressed his condolences. They would hold a tribute to honor the musician, the minister said.
